ESET Security Review

ESET offers a range of plans for Windows, macOS and Android. There’s a free version that offers basic security. The more expensive plans come with features such as parental controls, password management and data encryption. The most expensive package also includes a gaming mode to stop unauthorized access to your computer’s hardware while you play.

Installation is simple and quick. It doesn’t overwhelm your computer with bloatware, either. There are a few other settings but the majority of the tools and features are available on the left-hand sidebar.

Connected Home monitor is a brand new feature that provides a visual representation of all devices that are connected to your network. It can also be used to identify vulnerabilities, such as open ports or weak passwords for routers.

Another notable feature is a pop-up window that displays each when you insert the USB storage device. You can scan the drive immediately, or set it to scan automatically. If you don’t wish to scan the entire drive, you may perform an on-demand scan.

Advanced users will appreciate the ability to alter how much of the suite is scanned. You can set the number of files and folders that the program must scan as well as specific items such as boot sectors and networks. You can set the depth at which the program should search archives if you would like to restrict certain types of files.
